India continued their impressive run in the FIH Women’s Nations Cup, crushing Chile 6-0 in the semifinal in Auckland on Saturday to book a place in the title clash.
Navneet Kaur and Deepika starred with two goals each, while Neha and Rutuja Dadaso Pisal also got on the scoresheet as India registered their fourth straight win of the tournament. Captain Salima Tete was named Player of the Match for her influential all-round performance.
India took control early, with Navneet opening the scoring from a penalty corner in the sixth minute before adding a second soon after from a Salima assist. Deepika then struck twice through penalty corners to give India a commanding 4-0 lead at half-time and move to the top of the tournament’s scoring chart with six goals.
