US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visits Taj Mahal in Agra with wife Jeanette During India Tour

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited the Taj Mahal in Agra on Monday morning along with his wife Jeanette Rubio as part of his ongoing four-day official tour of India.

The couple, accompanied by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, spent around an hour at the UNESCO World Heritage site, where they posed for photographs and toured the monument complex amid tight security arrangements.

The visit is part of Rubio’s broader diplomatic itinerary in India, which includes meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and participation in the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi.

Officials said the Agra stop highlights the cultural dimension of high-level diplomacy between India and the United States, alongside discussions on trade, defence, energy cooperation, and regional security.

Rubio’s India tour has already included engagements in Kolkata and New Delhi, with additional stops planned in Jaipur before he concludes his visit.
