The Supreme Court has issued notice on a set of petitions concerning the NEET UG 2026 paper leak controversy, while also making critical observations about the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The matter was brought before the court in connection with allegations of irregularities in the conduct of the medical entrance examination, which has been under investigation following reports of a question paper leak and malpractice claims.
During the hearing, the bench noted concerns over repeated failures in exam security mechanisms and indicated that the issues raised in the petitions may require broader institutional reforms within the NTA to ensure transparency and integrity in future examinations.
