The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reached Bhopal to take over the investigation into the death of Twisha Sharma, following directions from the Supreme Court. The case was earlier being probed by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Bhopal Police.
As the central agency began its review, fresh details emerged from the SIT’s interrogation of Twisha’s husband and prime accused Samarth Singh.
During nearly three hours of questioning on Monday, Singh reportedly claimed that the model-turned-actor had been under “distress” following an abortion. He also reiterated his claim that he and his family had given her ₹7 lakh during their marriage.
Police sources said Singh was also questioned about his movements after Twisha’s death and allegedly attempted to mislead investigators regarding the period he remained absconding. His responses are being verified with call records, financial data, and location details.
