Delhi Minister Ashish Sood said strict action will be taken against those responsible for the deadly Malviya Nagar fire tragedy, asserting that “the guilty will not be spared” as authorities investigate possible negligence by the building owner.
The minister visited the site of the fire that claimed 21 lives and said a detailed inquiry has been launched to determine the circumstances that led to the incident. He emphasized that accountability would be fixed if any lapses in safety norms or building regulations are found.
According to preliminary findings, investigators are examining allegations that the property was operating beyond its approved capacity and may have violated licensing and fire safety regulations. Officials are also probing whether negligence by the building owner contributed to the scale of the disaster.
Sood said the Delhi government is closely monitoring the investigation and ensuring all affected families receive necessary support. He added that authorities have been directed to conduct a thorough review of the incident and identify any administrative or operational failures.
