The journey of a humble bunch with a common goal

june 26, 2021 As New Zealand’s status as the very first World Test Champions was confirmed with a flick off the pads in the warm, early-evening Hampshire sun, Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor embraced in the middle of the pitch. They said a few words, pulled away to get a good look of each other at the winning moment, smiled, and then embraced again. It was wonderfully poignant for two of New Zealand’s best ever, and fitting, that it was them who played the crucial hands in the run chase, as they have countless times before. Williamson and Taylor had taken their team to the summit of the Test game.
