Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Presents Budget

New Delhi:01 Feb 21 Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is addressing parliament with details of the Union Budget 2021. Her budget speech comes after a difficult year for the economy due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which shut down businesses for months, leading to lost earnings, curtailed consumer spending and job cuts. Budget 2021 will be paperless, another first as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivers her third budget. This morning, she was seen carrying a tablet in a red sleeve, matching her cream and red silk sari, with the national emblem embossed on it. Reports said the tablet was a “Made in India” device.
