Breach of Covid protocol will only hasten the third wave, the Delhi High Court warned on Friday while taking note of the violations in markers in the capital following the easing of restrictions this week. The court asked authorities to take strict measures against violators and sensitise shopkeepers. It also directed the Centre and Delhi government to submit status reports about the same.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while launching six crash courses for frontline workers, said the government is planning to train over 1 lakh healthcare personnel.

India, in the last 24 hours, reported 62,480 new coronavirus cases and 1,587 deaths. With this, the country’s active caseload has dropped below the 8-lakh mark. Kerala, which had 12,469 cases, was the only state to report more than 10,000 infections.
