New Delhi: A shocking case from the national capital has triggered outrage after several Class 12 students accused a private coaching centre tutor of sexually exploiting them for nearly two years.
The accused, who reportedly ran a coaching institute in North Delhi, allegedly targeted students who came to the centre for academic guidance. According to complaints filed with police, the victims have alleged that the tutor called them individually under the pretext of extra classes and subjected them to repeated sexual assault.
Police sources revealed that the accused allegedly threatened the students to keep them silent. The girls claimed that they were warned that their photographs and videos would be circulated on social media if they spoke about the abuse.
The matter surfaced when one of the victims finally informed her parents about the ordeal. Following this, families approached the police and lodged formal complaints against the accused.
Delhi Police have registered a case under relevant sections of rape, criminal intimidation and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
Investigators are now recording the statements of the victims and collecting digital evidence related to the case.
The disturbing incident has once again raised serious concerns about the safety of students in private coaching institutes operating across Delhi.
