Govt approves transfer of DRDO missile tech to Indian defence industry

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved the transfer of technologies developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for all conventional missile systems to the Indian defence industry for domestic production, the Defence Ministry said on Tuesday, August 25.

The ministry described the decision as an “important milestone” in increasing the participation of domestic industries in the country’s defence ecosystem.

The move will enable the transition of missile system development from the development stage to industrial production, the ministry said, adding that it reflects DRDO’s efforts to leverage Indian industry’s capabilities in developing and manufacturing advanced defence systems.
