A stampede-like situation broke out during the Jharkhand T20 League final at JSCA Stadium in Ranchi, leaving several spectators injured and triggering panic among the crowd.
According to officials and eyewitnesses, a large number of fans gathered at the stadium for the final match, leading to severe overcrowding outside the entry gates. The situation worsened when entry restrictions and slow security checks caused frustration among spectators, some of whom reportedly attempted to climb gates and barricades to enter the venue.
As the crowd pressure increased, chaos erupted near the entry points, resulting in injuries to multiple people. Emergency services were quickly deployed, and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Police personnel and senior district officials rushed to the spot and managed to bring the situation under control. Authorities later stated that the incident was triggered by poor crowd management and excessive rush of spectators, especially as entry arrangements were inadequate for the turnout.
