Mumbai Monsoon wreaks havoc as vehicles crushed, walls collapse and trees uprooted across city

Mumbai witnessed widespread disruption as intense monsoon showers triggered multiple incidents across the city, including wall collapses, uprooted trees and damage to vehicles.

Several low-lying and residential areas reported structural damage after overnight rainfall, with civic teams rushing to affected spots to clear debris and restore normalcy. In one incident, a parked vehicle was crushed after a wall collapsed due to waterlogging and weakened foundations.

Strong winds combined with heavy rain further worsened the situation, leading to fallen trees blocking key roads and slowing down traffic movement in multiple parts of the financial capital.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and emergency services have been deployed to handle complaints, clear obstructions and assess structural safety in vulnerable areas. No major casualties have been reported so far, but officials continue to monitor the situation as rainfall activity persists.
