Government blocks Telegram till June 22 amid NEET-UG re-test cheating concerns

The Central Government has temporarily restricted access to Telegram in India until June 22 following concerns that the messaging platform was being used by cheating networks linked to the NEET-UG examination.

Authorities are closely monitoring online activities after reports emerged that question papers and exam-related information were allegedly being circulated through Telegram groups.

The action comes as officials intensify efforts to ensure transparency and fairness in the NEET-UG re-test process.

Investigating agencies have identified several online channels that were reportedly helping organized cheating rackets communicate and share confidential material.

The temporary restriction is aimed at preventing the spread of misleading information, stopping unauthorized sharing of exam content, and maintaining the integrity of the medical entrance examination.
