PM Modi meets Russian foreign minister

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in New Delhi and held extensive discussions on key regional and international developments, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the evolving situation in West Asia, and strengthening bilateral cooperation between India and Russia.

“Foreign Minister Lavrov and the Prime Minister exchanged views on various regional and global issues of mutual interest, including the situation in Ukraine and West Asia,” the PMO said in its statement.

According to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the meeting focused on issues of mutual concern and reviewed progress in India-Russia relations following the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit held in December 2025. Lavrov is visiting India to attend the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
