In a boost to the Capital’s metro expansion plans, the Delhi on Wednesday approved three new corridors under Phase V(A) of the Delhi Metro project, including a key corridor linking the Central Vista, following clearance from the Union Government.Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the Phase V(A) of the project, estimated at `12,014.91 crore, will strengthen public transport in the Capital and added that the Delhi Government will contribute `2,940.46 crore towards the project cost. The three approved corridors include RK Ashram to Indraprastha (via Central Vista), Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj, and Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Domestic Terminal-1 (IGD T-1). According to a statement, the decision was taken at a State Cabinet meeting chaired by the CM.
